Yamaha TT-R230 Bikes
Yamaha’s TT-R230 is a 223cc air-cooled four-stroke trail bike that is a great choice for both beginners and intermediates. The electric, push-button start engine gives smooth, equal power that makes it easy to ride for any level of rider. Its six-speed transmission and heavy-duty clutch are geared for optimal versatility and power.
As well as giving awesome power, this TT-R230 engine is great for maintenance. The CDI magneto ignition system is extremely reliable, and nearly maintenance-free. The air filter has been designed with the YZ in mind, providing easier maintenance and higher airflow. Lastly, an automatic cam chain tensioner has been used to decrease maintenance and lengthen engine life.
Unlike the Yamaha YZs and WRs, the TT-R230 has a steel frame, but that doesn’t keep it from being comfortable and easy to maneuver. It has a flat, competition-style seat with a lower seat height, allowing your body ample moving room when going through bumpy conditions without losing bike maneuverability. As for the bike itself, it has 11.6 inches of ground clearance, a 36mm front fork that provides 9.5 inches of wheel travel, a linkage-mounted adjustable rear shock that gives you 8.7 inches of rear wheel travel.
The TT-R230 also comes standard with a lightweight exhaust and muffler, and a quiet, USFS-approved spark arrestor. Whether you are a veteran rider or a beginner, Yamaha’s TT-R230 is an excellent bike.
